Lunch with Dad is Special

I still get to take my Dad out to lunch, that is when I can get him out of his room. Could he be the only 90 year old that has a laptop and a pc on his desk? Both turned on at the same time too. He's one cool dude.

Decked Out at 29 Palms

We spent a part of our holidays at 29 Palms. We had been to this Inn once before and found the solitude, high desert air and the sounds of very nearby coyotes at dusk were enough to persuade our return. The pictures are from the Inn, our bungalow and from Joshua Tree National Park.
The look is from VintageHD and Picnik and as always, you can click on any photo to see it larger just watch that you don't get any sand in your eyes.

Water Tower Series

I love shooting series of the same. I've done some old barns of Pennsylvania, light houses of Jersey and Maine, and a few others. I've started a water tower set wishing that I had a picture of all those town towers I drove by during my time living on the East coast.  I would be hard pressed in trying to convince someone of a 20 year re-do. So this begins my search for the West coast towers that I have already and will continue to encounter during my travels.
All pictures were done digitally with the noticeable post production artwork. I attempted to enhance the look by matching up each tower with it's own similar surface area.

Palm Springs Road Trip

I love road trips. It's the excitement of the unknown or
even the known. There's always something new to stop at
and see. On this trip I ditched the digital camera and brought
an old point and shoot film. No instant gratification after each
shot but instead I had to wait for the roll to get used up and
then developed.

Outside of Palm Springs where
some dinosaurs stand waiting
to gobble up one or two
unsuspecting people or dogs.

In the desert where wind storms are able to sandblast your
car and windshield, they also provides the great wind turbines the
way of their circular flight.

This place offers tours of station, maybe next time I'll get closer to
the wind eaters.

And finally, at the end of the road what better place to stop and
quench a dry throat?

A Small Piece of India

June 2006 saw me in Bangalore, India. I was there on a work assignment for four weeks. I was ecstatic to say the least. Of course, work was what I was doing during the weeks there and in the fourth week I had to go in on the third shift for the first time in my life. There were many first times though during that month. Even though I only saw a small portion of that country, Bangalore and Mysore, it was the experiences that I'll never forget.

So here are some of the shots I took on my weekend adventures. I tried to capture the people and their colorful culture. If you ever get a chance, go there, I would again in a heart beat.
